Claude Hunt

My husband, Claude Hunt had traveled overseas in May 2012. On the second day of his arrival he had an unexpected massive stroke that paralysed one side of his body and his speech. Our sons and myself flew over to be at his side. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated and with sadness and an aching heart we found out the outcome may not be good for Claude. We were at Claude's bedside when he took a turn for the worse and passed away on May 12th. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. For everyone who knew Claude, you would agree with me, that he had the most generous heart; was straight forward; always stood his ground and was true to himself and his principles. Claude was the youngest of three sons, raised by his mother in South Africa. While growing up he had a love for sports and everyday after school you would find him playing some sport in the park with friends. Later on in life he was chosen to play softball for his country, South Africa. Claude's pride and joy were his children. His sons, Mark and Shayne, from his first marriage to Merrylle, and Nicolas from his second marriage to Ingrid and her children, Claude's step-children, Lee-Ann and Bradley. Claude was blessed with two granddaughters, Lindsay and Ashley, and two grandsons, Ethan and Tyrone. They all have given him so much joy over the years. We immigrated to Canada in 1981. Our family relocated to the United States and lived in North Carolina and later moved to Florida. Claude's love and passion for being near the ocean in Florida made him very happy as it reminded him so much of the days the family would spend at the beach in South Africa. Claude and I loved to walk for miles along the beach. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and swimming in the ocean; reading books; watching movies and collecting wine from across the world during his international business travels. Although Claude's life was short, he had many wonderful life experiences, traveling to many destinations around the world for business and traveling with me and Nicolas visiting our family and friends. Claude: husband, father, grandfather and best friend has "GONE ON AHEAD". You will be missed and always be remembered. WE WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER AND CHERISH ALL OUR MEMORIES OF YOU FOREVER. Claude is much loved by all.
